Volkswagen MK8 GTI Wheels

The newest addition to VW’s hot hatch bloodline is the MK8 GTI. The Golf has come a long way since the MK1, but its core values have never changed. The VW Golf has cemented itself in not just the Euro car scene, but the car scene in general. In its stock form, the GTI is a pretty well-rounded car. A 241-hp and 273-tq 2.0L turbocharged engine and a lightning-quick DSG gearbox makes this car extremely fun to drive.

But you know how it goes; a performance car doesn’t stay stock for long. Considering the stout engine, the main area of improvement comes down to handling dynamics. What does that mean? More aggressive wheel fitment of course. But it can’t just be any wheel can it? Our Flow Forged collection is the perfect upgrade to the OEM wheel setup.

Now let’s get into the wheel and tire setup. We mounted the Curva Concepts CFF70’s in a Gloss Black finish and a 19×8.5 fitment on all four corners. For tires, we went with the high-performance Lionhart LH-FIVE in a 245/35/R19.

We opted for a square fitment mainly due to the fact that this particular car is daily driven. However, it’s not uncommon to run a staggered fitment. Not your typical staggered fitment though. On a front-drive track car, enthusiasts like to run a slightly wider wheel in the front for more balanced handling characteristics.
