Unfortunately, the official Bimmer Fest 2022 was yet again postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But thankfully SDBimmers took matters in to their own hands and threw their own meet: SDBimmers Fest. We’ll take it! We were planning on making an appearance at the official Bimmer Fest, but when we heard SDBimmers were throwing their own meet, we immediately signed up for a booth.
Early Saturday morning we packed up all our gear and loaded the van up. We were on our way to beautiful San Diego. A shop van? No BMW’s? Don’t worry; of course we pulled up in our G42 M240i and G20 M340i. Come on now!
A Bavarian Gathering
As is tradition; we set up a raffle at our booth for the attendees. This year we gave away three $100 gas cards. With the way the world is right now, who wouldn’t love a full tank of gas for free? Especially when you drive a high-performance BMW and suffer from leadfootitis. We’ll excuse ourselves now.
At our booth, we showcased our Brooklyn Gray G42 M240i rocking the Brushed Clear Coat CFF70’s and our Alpine White G20 M340i rocking the same set. We had a few wheels on display too; including the super-rare Bronze C42’s which got a ton of attention. Rightfully so. Who knows, maybe it’ll make a comeback? Shhh.
The turnout at SDBimmer Fest was fantastic as expected. We saw some classics Bimmers like the E30 M3, E46 M3 and the borderline classic E9X M3. Of course, there were some F-Chassis M cars too, which are absolutely stunning when lowered on an aggressive set of wheels. Surprisingly we only saw a handful of G-Chassis BMW’s. Our G42 M240i was actually the only recent-gen 2-Series at the event. Now that car is an attention grabber. Just wait until we modify it some more.
In the end we really had a great time and appreciate all the love and support we got from the BMW community. Big congrats to the winners of the gas cards, who probably went WOT on the way home.
