In a galaxy far far away, the WRX STI was once a beefed up Impreza. Since then, Subaru has dropped the Impreza moniker altogether; and they’ve recently announced that STI will be discontinued. The JDM scene seems to have lost another legend; but whoever is lucky enough to drive one is lucky enough. There’s no denying the history and heritage of Subaru. At Curva Concepts, history and heritage is what we’re all about; so it was only right to install the rarest wheel we’ve ever produced on this STI. With the WRX STI being so easily modifiable as far as engine and suspension tuning, it’s hard to overlook an upgraded set of STI wheels. One of the best way to improve the handling characteristics of an already dynamic car, is to swap the factory wheel and tire setup with something a little more aggressive. Doing so widens track which in turn improves stability and cornering ability.
All too often we see people buying WRX’s and STI’s and driving bone stock for years on end. Not that that’s a bad thing, but why limit yourself when the platform itself is seemingly limitless? Poetic, isn’t it? This STI is rocking our bronze C42’s in a 19×8.5 fitment on all four corners. For tires, the driver opted for a very performance-oriented setup with the Yokohama Advan Sport in a 245/35/19; again on all four corners. In addition to the wheels tires, this Subie has a carbon fiber bonnet, carbon fiber front lip, an aftermarket exhaust and smoked out taillights. Talking with the owner, he has some big plans for this sick build; with an ECU tune, suspensions mods, and more.
